Final spurt
Best wishes to everyone, with thanks for all the
visits and comments and the enriching communication
of this year...
Hope you all will have a happy, healthy, harmonious
I´m going on to have a pause here till into January,
with maybe just a photo or two meanwhile, for...
"For last year's words belong to last year's language
and next year's words await another voice.”
(T.S. Eliot)
See you - take care...

Flying visit
Interrupting my hibernation for a quick Hello...
... and to announce new fabric packs in the shop...
There will be another post before the holidays to
announce (no, this is not turning into a billboard;)
- to announce good wishes to everyone.
Till then, hang loose...

Snowball system
That´s my hanging for December, growing
according to schedule...
It´s composed of potato printed snowflakes and
given border and fabric...
... pieces of and seams from a pair of white
cotton pyjama pants the former owner finally
discarded with a heavy heart and gave them to
me, after having taken them twice already to a
tailor´s to be mended...
This extraordinary moon reminded me of a curtain
I´d thrifted for its flowers, so I dug it out and
decided to use a brown one here, impersonating
these with their snowy hats, on the balcony...
This was taken last week, though, by now it´s
raining. I considered a snow yoyo... No.
So it will be just a little humble white cotton
square, representing snows long gone by...
And there´s a silk stem...
And there´s a foot-note, about shopaholism -
no, not me, I´ve confessed about my three red bags
already recently (in the comments to the Winter
Pastels post), and that is it... - but I´ve been
mentioned here at Shopaholic... - as a journalist,
I´ve been working on consumer information topics
myself for a long time, and know what a tightrope
walk it can be, so I think they´re doing quite a
good job...

Observing the nows
A keen observer. I made her a couple of weeks ago
and let her observe me for while - but now she´s in
the shop, they can´t stay here all with me forever...
She´s good company, I can tell you - I´m very fond
of her earnest stare, and her Tilda Swinton hairdo...
"Forever is composed of nows."
(Emily Dickinson, born December 10, 1830)

Winter Pastels
There´s new snow in Berlin -
and a new fabric pack in the shop...
It´s all from one kind of fabric this time, a wool-
silk-mix, with some additional cotton squares...
I´m making a scarf from one of the wool-silk dyes -
a honey-coloured shade - on one side and dyed silk
and some lacey fabric on the other...

A clothkeeper...
As I mentioned already, I´ve been thinking of
working with old pieces of cloth, made by someone
else, unknown to me, somewhere - bringing them into
a new context that way, refreshing and keeping them...
As they can´t be found on the streets like the scraps
of handwritten paper I´m in the habit of rescuing,
I purchased some old and battered quilt fragments
via Etsy - and here´s a little piece I made for a
start...
