Here´s a quilt I´m making from leftover scraps
and white bedlinen:
I´m quilting it in 120 x 30 cm sections (can´t handle
bigger pieces...)
... and I´m going to use just simple white
cotton thread for quilting, adding some poetry
on plane areas as I go - or stitching little
figures like this one...
... which I found in a book "Make your own Japanese
Clothes" - to be embroidered on the back of a garment
as Semori or back protector - this one is
supposed to be an oarsman (there are fans, pine needles,
pine boughs, a crane and other things, too)...
And here the last fleamarket button booty - peeping out
above in a corner - in full splendour. Acquired as usual
by cycling to the Straße des 17. Juni-fleamarket,
sprinting/jostling straight to the button stall, selecting
1 or 2 surprise packs for 2 to 3 €, sprinting/jostling out
of there...
I´m rather pleased with them, excellent colour choice
(not mine, the person´s who packed them - can´t see them
too clearly through the plastic wrapping...)

this looks great already - it will be wonderful with the stitching. i dont like stitching on large pieces either
It's fun seeing the larger piece grow up from the smaller ones. I like the idea of keepers of the quilt-the back protector is one. Perhaps some of your crazy creatures might appear too?
Oh my goodness this quilt is so beautiful - I would love to have something like this.
i like to work always on the edge. i just keep going around and around. this looks like a major cloth project. do you know how big it will be?
such a beautiful quilt. i love all the plaids and checks. it looks like it is going to be so comfortable and soothing to the eye.
It looks so restful and calming and I love the idea of the semori.
I tripped through this page... lovely blog, beautiful pictures of your work. -Jayne
That is going to make a great quilt. I love the idea of a back protector.
Hi, everyone, thanks for commenting...! The starting idea for this was just that I couldn´t stand that basket with the boring always same scraps any more, lots of them back from when I started sewing... - it´s going to be (enough stamina + scraps provided - and that´s all that´s needed, isn´t it..?) about 1,40 x 1,80 m, I think...
