Sitting quietly...

Wish I could. Always on the jump, in "real life" -
or so it feels, at least...

Finished...
Another one that got it´s direction from a scrap
with some hand written letters (as the "would" from
the last post...) - I can´t even remember why I cut
out single words from pieces of fabric I had written
some poems on somewhen (but should do it again
perhaps, they make great prompts...) - here it
was "just sit" which fell into my hands when I
gathered potential scraps for this piece (the idea
was to let four islands, two round ones and two
squares, float in a pond of ripples)...

That and the ripples made me think of a traditional
japanese garden, and I added "Just now"...

Then I dismissed the "Just sit" scrap and embroidered
that too instead (bit hard to see here, it´s white
on white)...
And it´s in the shop...

"Sitting quietly, doing nothing, spring comes,
and the grass grows by itself"

Circling a resting place, then.

Right - the best strategy perhaps: moving, but a resting place within reach...

Very peaceful piece.... I wonder if its the ripples at play over the soft whiteness?

Soft movement´s more peaceful than absolute stillness I guess... thanks, Jacky

if the season was right, maybe it would have stitched itself.

This piece makes me think of a book I am reading now...Shakkai...In the book Shakkai/the teacher talks about her Japanese garden and how it represents her entire world. From the tiniest flower to the pond.
I like your ripple affect in the fabric.

Love the "kantha" stitching here...the ripples, and the soft look..

Thank you... hearing others think it´s restful makes me rest with it even better... - now that´s an interesting concept: cloth that stitches itself if one catches the right point of time... (but I guess I know of more than one lady who wouldn´t be too comfortable with that...)

Almost seems like a topographical map...one for dreams?

Vanilla icecream dreams - can´t eat milk products + don´t miss them much, but subconsciously, who knows... ;)
