... "frozen" in cloth - Thaw
... and City Snow
This started out to become my monthly hanging
for December, but then I made another one instead...
Do you remember
the photo of the thick snow caps
on that dry flowers on the balcony? All gone
now in reality - but preserved in stitch...

I understand snow and frozen...brrr cold and snowy
here too! Love that first photo.
thaw and city snow are absolutely delightful! i love your monthly hangings concept. what a great way to keep challenging yourself to create.
it's very nice, too, to see photos of your inspiration (as in thaw). it gives us a glimpse of your world as you see it and hints at new treasures.

That is a very good idea to keep the moment of winter.
like both, but really love city snow. incredible, as always! :)
Love your play between positive and negative shapes at the bottom with the brown flower and white stitching below, sort of a ghost image or something melting away.
Love the free hand drawing effect on your pieces You make neutrals sing and dance even in the ice and snow.
Both are beautiful. I love the contrast of the blue in the first one and the red stitching in the second.
Heike I love those warm cloths hanging there, toasty! I received my 2 packets in Australia and thank you for the lovely cut out snowflake, gorgeous.
Thanks... - well, I´m quite glad I did preserve a memory of those winter moments, as there´s rain now, + much too mild temperatures...
moments of Winter preserved for ever, beautiful...k.
there are two things in particular on your blog that have taken me aback - one is the City Snow hanging - very evocative and the other is that wonderful icicle photograph. Is it warming up this week for you? We are into gloom and rain at the moment - trying to make the most of it but....
For ever + a day...) - thanks, Clare, yes, gloom + rain here too - winter´s on vacation, it seems...
