If a brooch ...maybe nestled into ragged thready fabric? have you ever put a small piece of fabric with cut edges through the wash cycle to make on instant nest?
Thanks everyone... yes, buttons are treasures (+ I feel like a treasure hunter when I make fleamarket expeditions...) - the fabric nest sounds interesting (looks way too ladylike on the lapel as it is...), Robin at "Rough Around the Edges" for example makes lovely things in this technique - but I fear for the health of my washing machine...
