I thought I´d like to make some small pieces
starting from traditional patterns, here a simple
Diamond in a Square, and then play around with
it. The tightly packed center in this one made
me feel a little claustrophobic I guess - or was
it rebellious...? Anyway, I cut into it...

It's fun to see how seasonal everyone's work is and I love how you are tweaking a traditional block.
Traditional quilt patterns make me feel a deep recognition somehow, but tradition in a true sense they aren´t, as there´s no quilting history in Germany (or only a very early one), so I feel a bit presuming tweaking them... but when I look at the "quilts + quilting"-pool at flickr for example, there´s certainly some elbow-room for playing, redefining + tweaking...
