Seeing this ad, I wondered how it could be done: four patches, knotted in the middle...
So I tried, cutting squares with tails... Never figured it out properly like in the photo, but came up with these quite entertaining little four-patches...
Interessant, da bekomme ich auch Lust, das nachzuknoten (auch wenn bei mir dann wieder eine Tasche daraus würde). Vielleicht sind das auch nur zwei Teile, verschlungen, nicht veknotet. Hmmm...
That´s what attracted me in the bag I guess, that muscularity.. Would be interesting to explore the difference doing it with small squares of very light fabrics (which would fray a lot when washed) + big squares of strong fabric, for the muscular touch (perhaps even leather...)
I am really loving that last photo with the reddish color peeking through. How clever...I always enjoy seeing where the inspiration comes from. Very nice. : )
Thanks... - actually, I often find cheap fashion magazines, stupid as they are, a source for inspiration - not in what they propagate, but in little details here + there...
ok, now that we are going here... how about if the squares have 4 tails, one on each corner and you just tie the patches together... i might try that if you don't ...ha!
Thank you...! Squares, wagging their tails - first 1, then 2... - please go ahead, Jude, with the 4tailed ones, I´d (+ not only me, I guess...) love to see what you do with them - the cutting will be more tricky then with 1 tail, though (+ the cutting, to tell you the truth, is the part of the whole business I like the least...)

nice little doorways
Muscular, like a strong heart.
What if you stitched the edges that aren't tails, and then put them through the wash - either before or after attaching them to each other?

Ohhhhh, muscular... leather.. Hummmm...Yes...well, I would think it would be quite lovely.
Bet you had fun with this one! This would be fun to try with denim.

They make me smile! They really take on personalities of their own.

Wow, this is beautiful!
I like what you've done. Just looking at the ad and trying to work out how they did it made my head hurt!
