Thaw or: Why, oh why...

Ugly weather here, dirty slush melting further,
big patches of ice and snow crashing from rooftops,
sunless days for the longest period since 1964 -
all this dripping and dropping makes me extra fond
of frayed edges it seems...

A little something I stitched yesterday...

... using some print-pastel-sketch bubbles I made
a while ago...

"Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?"

I like the bubbles, blowing bubbles is certainly akin to chasing rainbows.

I like those frayed edges...more snow here too! The pastel sketched
bubbles are fun too. (how did you do them?) Somewhere Over the Rainbow...brings back childhood memories...
: )
I wish you sunny days!

The frays add such gentle softness to a piece. I hope that funny little bird shows up somewhere soon.

and there i was standing at Hamburg HBF today
pondering how lovely the snowflakes were
and how beautifully they were covering up the general
railway detritus...

End of thaw - all frozen in place again... - thank you! (the bubbles are potato-prints to which I added with pen + pastel dye sticks...)

Thank you, Clare... that´s what it intends to (me, first of all - if others, too, a pleasure...)
