Always good to be prepared... Yesterday the
recently dyed jaundice yellow proofed to be just
the perfect little helper for putting my annoyance
about undesired noises from upstairs into cloth...
Wrote a haiku, too, including it, covered up with a
layer of thin cotton:
Life´s million noises
Only way to shut them off
Seems listening hard
I´m sewing it to a piece of flower embroidered old
tablecloth - nice little may be meaning mish mash:
threadbareness of domestic comforts meets praise of
patience meets expectations of spring...

White Noise always reminds me of Don DeLillo and toxic exposure. Hummm Too many words could be considered Toxic.
Free association buzzing through my head.
Your work is really lovely.
Tonight we watched a film called noise. It had an actor from the Shawshank Redemption in it as a very cool, vigilante against noise polution. Some interesting tactics. Your haiku, made me think of this :)
Like those circles stitched in there. and the words and flower!
I like your haiku. Makes me think of:
"even the silence can be loud".

I must say I really hear you on apartment living...there is the feeling of luxury in making art, conitnual expansion and exploration, and then there is the noise, as if to say "You're in steerage on the Titanic".
I also like the idea of putting words into "underlayers"....hidden, but still there...
I like the colours here too.
Gentle......
recently the noise that has bothered me was coming from inside my head. but it is quieter now. yellow seems quieted by grey. yet grey is warmed by yellow
The grey, yellow and white are fabulous together. We have noise coming from next door right now. If I were to stitch it, it would be red and very unattractive.
gray and yellow make me think of birds wings. A way to soar away from it all...
Thanks for your comments... - there´s a website simplenoisy.com, where one can listen to white, pink + brown/red noise - one as unpleasant as the other, but meant to "mask irritating noise, aid sleep, enhance privacy"... bullshit
i like what you've done here.
I love to look at your work. I wish I could see it for real and handle your soft cloths and see your tiny little stitches and words. Very beautiful and I love your soft natural dyed colours. I shall dye more fabrics this year
