May I invite you to a rare glimpse into a
breakfast scenario at the Gerdiary dwellings...
Let´s get a bit closer to see what´s on that
armrest...
A bit of letter stitching...
A bit of cross covering a patch...
And two vintage doilies I found last week (for 2 €
each...)
One is made completely of single strips of fabric,
sewn together into an intricate flowery spiderweb
construction...
For the other one someone has cut at least 150
little holes into a piece of cotton, securing and
adorning them with tiny patient stitches...
It´s been a week now since I opened the shop -
and I want to say a big THANK YOU to all who
visited there, who sent cheering comments, and
of course to those who purchased something...!
I offered 3 Virtual Vouchers (10 € each) for the
shop - and the winners are:
Jackie at Stitchworks
Jacky at Art4moi
and
Robin at Rough Around the Edges...
Please let me say it here again: there´s no hurry
at all for using them - they´re valid forever and
a day...

are not those old linens and things ever inspiring to slow down? congrats again on your beautiful shop. and a glimpse into your calmness.
Yes, they are... that photo was taken in a moment of calm - but, to tell you the truth: I have to conquer my own restlesness a lot (+ the urge to go about with a bread knife, slaughtering noisy neighbours...)
Thank you again. I have just linked to your blog/shop. Please don't spoil the image, we all like to think that somewhere someone has actually achieved an oasis of peace and calm.
Lovely glimpse, thank you for sharing.
My pleasure... - all right, Jackie, I´ll try my best to impersonate a convincing Queen of Calm... ;) - eine ausgestorbene Technik, sieh mal an - danke Lucy, wie interessant...
I am thrilled to be one of the winners! It will be hard to make my mind up on all your lovelies. Love this little glimpse at your special corner.
You´re very welcome, Robin...
Just checking my emails before I head off for my holiday...what a lovely surprise to see I am one of the winners of your vouchers! My email address is jacky_wllms@yahoo.com.au
I am looking forward to purchasing one of your beautiful works.
Beautiful calm little area you have to sit and stitch. I hope those noisy neighbours stay a bit quieter for you.
Visit again when I return.

It really does look like a wonderful little oasis of calm! What lovely finds. Vintage needlework fascinates me. As Jude said, you can only stand still and marvel at the intricacy of the work. And congratulations on your shop success :-)
