So it´s leaf season again...
I always find it touching (used to make me angry,
but no more - ennui I guess, spiced with a drop of
insight...) when the moth-ridden chestnut tree in
front of my window gets into it´s premature autumn -
only to start all over again the next year, in new
yet already doomed glory...
Brave thing, that tree, singing away at the
moment with a cheerful rustling sound that
has a rather consoling bye-bye summer swing to it...
Found these leaves I made two years ago in August...
I had just begun stitching then. Seems longer...
Beautiful, aren´t they...

Tattered leaf edges are so enticing ... play so well with fabric. Love the blue.
oh I would love a tree of falling leaves like your stitched ones.
we seem to be in the same season, we are experiencing a very early leaf transformation because it has been so dry. and now it has been raining for days and the news is that it may never stop.
Oh yes! I always love the way the autumn colors grow on the leaves, such different patterns.
Such beautiful leaves!
I would not have, in a million years, identified those first stitched leaves as yours. You have defined evolution by showing these!
Beautiful, yes :>]]
"Meine" Kastanienbäume hier sehen genauso aus, seit so vielen Jahren! Mich macht es eher stolz, dass die Bäume durchhalten. Motten kriegen und kriegen sie nicht klein.
Beautiful indeed, yes. The natural and the stitched, equally so.
those stitched leaves are gorgeous - we too have fallen leaves already in London; and they don't look right somehow, a bit sickly perhaps.
beautiful colour range, are you going to steam some in bundles? ...k.
Thanks, danke... every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree (E.Bronte) - whether sickly or not...
i bundled up a few very old and dried oak leaves in silk, wrapped up very tight and steamed them for an hour, india's technique. the next day there were lovely oak leaf shadows on the silk - maybe the chestnut would oblige as well...k.
Decay can be very baroque.
Baroque is cool + sounds autumnly... - thank you, K, I´ll try that...
It's an early autumn here, too, but your leaves are lovely.
