Started something new yesterday, intending to make
a feel-good-quilt... The grey seersucker is my old
housecoat, worn to exhaustion - but far from
retirement yet, nevertheless - and a small moon
piece from a while back found it´s place in
life, too...
Ladybugs in the yard...
... and a second-hand lizard - pleased I found him,
he´s really heavy, for a little guy, and he does love
cloth...

What a nice idea--a feel good quilt as a receptacle of all those well-loved, well-worn old clothes. I have such a hard time letting go of those (actually I have a hard time not wearing them!)
Me, too... (but that coat had developed such holes by now that wearing it made me look like the confused elderly spinster I am... ;o)
looks like you will have to share your feel-good quilt with your new lizard friend ....
oooo nice. very Spirit clothy xx
i like what i see here, and your lizard seems at home, too. i love my old clothes and hate to retire them.
hey, is that where my old housecoat has gone to? the quilt is looking good, can we see all of it when it's finished? k.
I love this post! I just *retired* a favorite linen blouse today...my {{{girls}}} don't fit into a size small top anymore. But what did I do? I folded it & stacked it neatly atop the pile of like-colored textiles that are awaiting new places in new storycloths. Felt good that I didn't REALLY have to give it up :>]]

p.s. 'Mauve Pack' arrived safely. It has a bit of drool on it now, but other than that, GORGEOUS!!
Yes, an excellent idea, and good to keep all those memories somewhere safe.
Feels good that I don´t have to give up that house coat, indeed (in fact it might live a 2. time besides the quilt, as I took it´s measurements, determined to try sewing a new one - more about that adventure soon...) + I don´t mind sharing it with the lizard + I take Spirit clothy as the huge compliment it is... - thanks, everyone
Oh it looks so comforting.... I do like using fabric from one thing to another.
lovely post. your new friend the little lizard really feels cozy with fabrics. I also liked a lot the mixed textures, one feels like putting a finger into the photos to touch them. and the little lizard makes an interesting contrast with them.
Thanks Deb, I know you do... + thanks to you, Aleph, for the compliment by an photo expert...
hmm.
I am thinking of the same thing...
the textures are delightful in that piece.
Thanks, Denise... - that´s from having worn part of the fabrics for 1/2 a millenium...
