That´s my hanging for December, growing
according to schedule...
It´s composed of potato printed snowflakes and
given border and fabric...
... pieces of and seams from a pair of white
cotton pyjama pants the former owner finally
discarded with a heavy heart and gave them to
me, after having taken them twice already to a
tailor´s to be mended...
This extraordinary moon reminded me of a curtain
I´d thrifted for its flowers, so I dug it out and
decided to use a brown one here, impersonating
these with their snowy hats, on the balcony...
This was taken last week, though, by now it´s
raining. I considered a snow yoyo... No.
So it will be just a little humble white cotton
square, representing snows long gone by...
And there´s a silk stem...
And there´s a foot-note, about shopaholism -
no, not me, I´ve confessed about my three red bags
already recently (in the comments to the Winter
Pastels post), and that is it... - but I´ve been
mentioned here at Shopaholic... - as a journalist,
I´ve been working on consumer information topics
myself for a long time, and know what a tightrope
walk it can be, so I think they´re doing quite a
good job...

Fabulous post; really inspiring!
love seeing how it came together and the history of some of the pieces.
love the story behind this wonder. the snow scene is a perfect example of how a single moment can define a piece...
As the record keeps a ski. .ppp..ing.skipping. . .I just love it,(I do sound like a broken record, yes?) too much about it to list everything. Nice of them to list you on shopaholics.
i love the layers of time in here, snows now and long gone, bare earth, older times, current moments. beautiful...k.
"There is something bigger than fact: the underlying spirit, all it stands for, the mood, the vastness, the wildness." (Emily Carr, born Dec. 13, 1871) - whishing everyone a week with just the right amount of vastness + wildness...;)
the cloths and the colors... those snow capped flowers, everything is so beautiful...
and much congratulations on being one of the best of the web!
as gently as the snowflakes wafting down outside my studio window, your cloth has sifted into my bones! the tenderness and thoughtfulness of the cloth is a delight. i love the layers of time and story that have come together to create this beautiful piece! thank you so much for touching my spirit with it!
