Hanging on to January

This is my monthly hanging for January...

Still wip - won´t be able to finish this one on
schedule, which is quite as well - don´t feel
finished with January, novemberly and pre-spring
at the same time as it has been, unwilling to
slip over into a February which threatens to turn
out the same: a stretch of life without a climate
of its own...

As I turned 56 in January, which means 8 x 7 years,
it´s a sort of time-ladder, on which I´m stitching
the 7 chakra symbols...

And I´ve just herded last week´s Creatures into
the shop.

aha I am interested in the chakras too. But why is 56 7x7?

Okay, you caught me (never have been an arithmetics genius...;) - it´s 8 x 7 then - + there are 8 squares in that piece, which should mean something too...

A lovely little cloth. I really like the symbolism.

Thanks, D... - I´ve 4 of them on the wall now, from September on, + the longer I look at them the more they reveal a symbolism of their own, which I didn´t intend to give them... - I know, Jude... - hanging on to 59 isn´t an option I guess ;)- but don´t worry, the nice wise round figures will suit you well...

I do like seeing all your creatures together...they are a wild and wonderful herd.

Heh, I had chakras on the brain last night - the fifth one, to be precise. Are you finding your voice as you get older?

Love your January, but you know what: I'm glad I finished MY whole year ;-)
( ...although I started another (felt) project for this year....)

You are six years ahead of me... my mentor!

So excited to be having Lady Po and the big eyed dog come to live with me.

I like them together, too - that´s why I´m double pleased when they get adopted as a pair - cheers, Denise! (but you´re ahead of me in the silver-hair department, judging from your photos - hope to verify that fact one day soon in Berlin...;) - hope so, Susan, but what does the 5. a lot better than speaking out, at least for me, is to "talk low, talk slow, don´t say too much"... - I readily believe you, Els, coming over to have a look at the felt project...

I like the thought of herding those creatures. Did they give you much trouble? Maths is not good for me either.

They give me trouble, sort of, while making them - but as soon as they exist, they are quite complaisant...
