Some first results with batik...
I decided I want to take that up - for creating patterns,
additional to dyeing - and as a means for writing on
fabric...
My new fair trade cantings from Indonesia, which
came in a nice fabric covered box...
I thought I might be able to put together some freshly
batiked fabric pack by the end of the week - but this
definitely takes longer than anticipated...

I've used them while silk deying (looooong ago)
It was great to see them scillfully used when we were down in Indonesia some odd years back...

I love words written or embroidered in fabric.
It has a lovely mellow patina, but best of all
it tells a story.

I think you will have a lot of fun,it doesn't have to be perfect, even a few blobs can be nice. The peaceful colours are lovely as usual.
You are more than bungling here.... lovely writing on cloth. I, too, love words on cloth.
It does take some pratice but do not give up..the results are worth it l promise. xlyndax
