Here´s something with one of last saturday´s
blotches, which turned out to be mostly fishbirds
and turtles...
"The world below the brine;
Forests at the bottom of the sea — the branches and leaves,
Sea-lettuce, vast lichens, strange flowers and seeds —
the thick tangle, the openings, and the pink turf,
Different colors, pale gray and green, purple, white,
and gold — the play of light through the water,
Dumb swimmers there among the rocks—coral, gluten, grass,
rushes — and the aliment of the swimmers,
Sluggish existences grazing there, suspended, or slowly
crawling close to the bottom,
The sperm-whale at the surface, blowing air and spray,
or disporting with his flukes,
The leaden-eyed shark, the walrus, the turtle, the hairy
sea-leopard, and the sting-ray;
Passions there — wars, pursuits, tribes—sight in those
ocean-depths — breathing that thick-breathing air,
as so many do;
The change thence to the sight here, and to the subtle air
breathed by beings like us, who walk this sphere;
The change onward from ours, to that of beings who walk
other spheres."

I like your blotchy turtles - have you tried using Pitt Pens? - they are brighter but still reasonably subtle.
As for your comment on my blog I agree people don't really write much any more - it's sad isn't it because our handwriting has elemnts of our personality doesn't it? xx
... a world without handwriting would definitely be a sad place... - I might try them, thanks, didn´t find a pen (textile or else) till now which doesn´t tend to turn from black into blue or brown on fabric...
I always enjoy your art pieces...and those words marry so well with this piece...the photo of it hanging on the fence is fantastic...
Thanks, Chrisy... (it´s a foot-bridge by a pond, in the Botanical Gardens...)
I see planet Earth in that turtle. Maybe rather than the turtle that carries the world on it's back, it is a turtle that swims through the universe with us?
Hoho... big (but very charming, thank you...) words for a small blotch...
i see so many things here.
These blotches have a life of their own...
