Give-away time

Inspired by this, and going along with
"One world one heart" (great idea, more about
it here...) I think it´s time for another
give-away here, too - to join in the fun, and to
say thanks to the steadily growing number of
visitors who take an interest in Gerdiary...

So, I´m offering three textile hearts (about 14 cm
high) I made a while ago. Here they are:

I´ve always liked the english expression "to my heart´s
content"... In German, that´s "nach Herzenslust" - but
the meaning seems a slightly different one. It suggests
something like eating too much cake, or to frolic about
in the shopping mall, without having washed the dishes
first at home - there´s a tiny quantum of guilt mixed
in (as it is with most things German...) - whereas
"to my heart´s content" for my ears sounds more
private, and restoring...

To be counted in, tell me: What´s to your heart´s
content today - or tomorrow, or next week...?

And please note which one of the hearts you would
prefer (named after the words used on them, left to
right on the second photo): Silver, Wisdom or Ottawa ...

I´ll pack a little bundle of fabric scraps and things,
all in neutrals, in with each heart. The give-away
will be open till February 14, and winners will be
announced/contacted on February 15.

My heart's desire? For my husband to regain his health. Otherwise my heart is full of family and friends. I love Silver, but they're all so beautiful. What a generous give away.

My hearts desire today was longfully waiting for my silk order to arrive. It did not, ut i managed to convince a sari shop to part with a little... Today my hearts desires have been granted :)

I love all of your hearts. I feel very drawn towards Ottawa (is that a native Indian name?) , it reminds me of an oak leaf...

I would love a chance to win Wisdom. (I'll take it anyawy I can get it - especially in the form of beautiful fabric hearts!)

As for what fills my heart with content? My sewing machine humming, my Beloved Spouse within sight in the living room watching tv. or reading (my sewing room is off of our living room); my youn adult children doing laundry downstairs - sewing in the knowledge that all that I love is safe and within easy reach.

German is always crunchier than English...it goes with the gutturals. Oh, I covet that word, and Wisdom too. I'm going to go post something on Tinytheatre right now and link to you.

My heart contentment is always found in my home where I have my loved ones, memories and the support to try anything. The heart that speaks to me the most is the heart called Wisdom.

Thanks for the opportunity to share and maybe get something extra special in return.

I love to read to my heart's content! And sew and do yoga and garden...

Your hearts, as with everything you do, are peaceful, calming, and lovely.

I will dally in my potager to my heart's content and tidy up ready for spring planting, helped by three dear hens.

I love your silver heart - what a wonderful giveaway.

My heart's content today was being able to wake up to sunshine and go for a nice walk in the country. Love the work you have done so far...looking forward to more. No preference on the hearts...they are all wonderful...

I'm so glad you were inspired by my give-away, as you inspire me every time I visit! Love all your hearts, maybe especially the simplicity of silver. And my heart's content this week is experimentation! After working to get ready for shows, I am longing to fill my days with a needle and scraps and sheer experimentation!

One more thing--What a great question! I'll come back and read what others say.

My heart's desire today is two fold really.I'm thankful for the swift recovery of a painful knee and secondly... for a safe journey and return of my husband who leaves tonight on work overseas.
I have my heart set on Wisdom. Thank you for having such a thought provoking giveaway.

I'd like to stitch to my heart's content and sing to my heart's content. Singing and stitching both fill me up with contentment and leave me satisfied with life.

Your hearts are lovely, especially Wisdom.

Anonym hat gesagt…

My hearts content is to be an "instrument of peace" and be with my family stitching and sipping a cup of tea...pretty simple.
Your hearts are lovely and I would be delighted to have any one of them.
Thank you : )

Well dear H, I am a very happy and contented person by nature. I am happy to be at home, in good health, to have a good husband, lovely family, time to enjoy my textile art. I would wish for better health for my Dad, but other than that I already have my heart's content! However, I absolutely love your hearts, especially the one called "WISDOM" and I would be "over the moon with happiness" to win your heart and a little natural coloured fabric stash would be wonderful!

Thank you H for a gorgeous giveaway!

my heart is content today because it's snowing outside. the world is covered in a soft, fluffy blanket of beautiful, white, new snow. everything is clean, fresh and renewed. i'm safe and warm inside by a crackling fire. it would actually be difficult for my heart to feel more content at the moment.

and definitely wisdom for me...sophia, the divine wisdom, that was my daughter's name.

I began this year with a week of silence and solitude, gathered my thoughts around me. Then when I discovered your blog with the exquisite soft colors that had been like the time of silence for me. That was the first inkling that what I had experienced could be made visable. My heart's content. I am very drawn to Silver, thanks you for this chance! Diane

Dear Gerdairy my heart's desire is to be surrounded by nature and textiles and to bring these together - these make me contented and feel creative.
Your blog always inspires me. Of your three beautiful hearts I am particularly drawn to "silver".

Fabulous post Ger-as always. It has been so rewarding watching your journey here unfold. And I have so enjoyed reading these glimpses into other people's lives too.
As for my heart's desire-to continue my own journey, looking for whatever it is that is pulling me onwards, but not really expecting to find it.

Please include me. My hearts content tomorrow will be to be surrounded by people who love to create just for its own sake, as we bustle around in the print room at college, lost to worries and the outside world.

Your hearts are fabulous! I especially like the Wisdom Heart. My heart's content? Books -- always will be -- and fabric too - I don't know what I'd do without my sewing machine!

To my heart's content I've just painted parts of my home to make it feel more like a home after years of provisionality. And there's the guilt element in it too because I neglected everything else while doing it :)

Morna Crites-Moore hat gesagt…

My heart's content is right here, right now. I would love to win one of your hearts, I like Silver best, Wisdom second best. Thank you. :-)

Tally hat gesagt…

Hi,
I go for *wisdom*

To my heart content I'm doing my yoga these days.

Tally

After coming out of a spell of mild depression today was a real "heart's content" day. A walk with a friend in the frost listening to her troubles, finishing the binding on a restorative quilt and finding the cat curled upon it immediately, cooking and eating with my two kids 8 and 11, helping them through a mountain of homework and watching my son's birthday video. How good can it get sometimes. Hearth and hoe are my heart's content today. I love your hearts - especially Wisdom

jacque v. hat gesagt…

my heart content's nowadays is, whenever i feel a little overwhelmed by work,or life itself, to take a break, invite a friend and go to this beautiful place i've discovered in my neighbourhood: it's an old chalet converted into a lovely teahouse with a nursery garden. It's very feminine, without been opressive, with flea-market furniture, mismatched but gorgeous tea cups, tea pots , lovely fabrics and nice waitresses, all female. So, yesterday i called a friend who's been trough difficult times , and we both went for tea, talk and and uplift of our spirits. We sat in under a tree, looking at the nursery, lovely done and displayed, sipping tea with delicious lavender scones. It's a very special place, and it's my heart's content these days.
By the way, I love all your beautiful hearts, but "wisdom" is my favorite! Your work is very beautiful and soothing and speaks to the soul. That's why I would love to win one of your hearts ...
My very best wishes
jacque
